1. Offline singleplayer

ChillTank is an offline singleplayer aquarium game. The former online version is retired. FishShop, the economy, deliveries, breeding and simulated trading run locally; they are not transactions with other real players. No ChillTank gameplay account is required.

Steam leaderboards, achievements and optional Cloud features use Steam when connected. They are separate from local play and saving. Website services and voluntary support require an internet connection.

Optional tank sharing starts only after you press Share tank publicly for the selected habitat. Valve hosts a public Steam Workshop snapshot of one chosen habitat, its decor and fish, including generated art and shared fish, tank and habitat names, associated with your Steam identity. The item is discoverable through Steam Workshop; other players can visit it from ChillTank’s Steam leaderboards. Manual Save updates it after sharing is enabled. Stop sharing makes the item private and hides new visits, but previously downloaded copies may remain. Sharing does not upload the full save, inventory, balances or loans. See the Privacy Policy and Steam Workshop Agreement. Shared names and content must follow Valve’s rules and respect third-party rights.

2. Eligibility

Steam’s account requirements, the game’s applicable age classification and local law apply. Minors need a parent’s or guardian’s consent where required by law.

3. Steam purchases and demos

The full game and free demo are distributed through Steam for supported Windows, macOS and Linux systems. See the official Steam store page for current release status, prices, system requirements and included content. The demo has a limited selection of content. This website promotes the game and provides information and support; it does not sell the game or offer browser gameplay.

A Steam account and internet access are required for installation, activation, downloads and updates. After setup, local gameplay supports Steam’s offline mode. Optional Steam services need a connection. Steam purchases, licences and refund requests are subject to the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Steam Refund Policy. Statutory consumer rights, including applicable rights concerning digital products, remain unaffected.

4. Local saves

You control saves on your device. Steam demo and full-game saves use separate locations. Use available save-management and backup tools before deleting or moving data. Generated fish art and additional aquariums increase save size. Steam Cloud is optional and separate from local saving. Clearing browser data for this marketing website does not delete installed-game saves.

5. Virtual items and simulated economy

FishCoins, fish, skins, decor, virtual bank balances, loans and memberships are game content with no cash value or cash-out entitlement. In-game memberships and loan charges use virtual currency, not recurring real-money payments. ChillTank does not offer a casino, betting service, cash prizes or financial products. Purchases of the game itself are handled through Steam.

Random traits and rewards, rarity labels, valuations, local market characters and simulated demand are gameplay systems. They do not promise real-world value, global exclusivity or transactions with real players. Balance and content may change through updates, subject to applicable consumer rights.

6. Conduct and intellectual property

Do not abuse the website or Steam services, submit unlawful or infringing content, impersonate others, or manipulate shared Steam rankings. Names and feedback must respect third-party rights. The game, art, software and branding remain protected by their applicable licences and intellectual property rights. Access does not transfer ownership of those rights.

7. Website providers and privacy

Website hosting and security use Cloudflare. Separate administration and feedback storage use Supabase. Submitted website contact forms use Web3Forms. An optional YouTube player loads only after the choice described beside it. These services are separate from offline Steam gameplay. See the Privacy Policy for purposes, legal bases, providers and your rights.

8. Availability and liability

Website or Steam platform availability and error-free software cannot be guaranteed. Keep backups of important local saves. Statutory rules on liability and consumer remedies apply. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts mandatory rights concerning paid digital products or liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, liability under the German Product Liability Act, or other mandatory liability.

9. Support and feedback

Use Contact for the Steam full game or Steam demo. Include your edition, version and steps to reproduce a problem. Submitting feedback or diagnostics is voluntary; your local save is not automatically uploaded. We may use the reply address you provide to handle the request and follow up, not for marketing without separate consent.

10. Changes and governing law

Changes to these terms are published here with an updated date and are subject to applicable notice and consumer-protection requirements. German law applies, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections of the law otherwise applicable to them. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue subject to applicable law.
