Growing a fish is not the same as breeding it
A growth loop develops the fish you already own. A collecting loop adds new inhabitants or designs. Breeding produces another generation from a pair. Look for an actual pairing and offspring system if that is the feature you want; the word “raise” alone does not establish that a game includes breeding.
ChillTank brings these goals together through feeding and individual progression, fish and skin collecting, and breeding. The current game screens explain which fish can be paired and what the process needs.
A fish family in ChillTank: what to look at
Use the fish details and breeding screens to understand a possible pairing before committing. Progression requirements, available fish, prices and waiting times can change as the game develops.
- Meet the parents
- Inspect your fish and their individual details. Decide which members of the collection you want to keep, grow or consider for a pair.
- Check the requirements
- Follow the game’s breeding unlocks and pairing rules. Check the displayed cost and any waiting time before starting a breeding action.
- Discover the offspring
- Inspect the new fish after the reveal. Its identity and place in your collection matter more than assuming every pairing must produce a particular rare design.
- Make room for the next generation
- Return to feeding and growth, keep the fish you are attached to and use the available in-game shop and trading systems for the rest.
Fish species, skins and traits are different things
Species identifies the kind of fish. A skin changes its visual design. Individual progression and traits describe the particular fish you are raising. Keeping those ideas separate helps you decide whether you want a species collection, a favourite pattern or a fish family.
Our encyclopedia contains the full catalog of ChillTank designs, including archived artwork. A design appearing there does not promise that it is for sale today or that a chosen pairing will produce it. Use the game’s own pairing and availability information when making a decision.
Which kind of breeding or collecting game suits you?
Choose a dedicated aquarium when you want to spend time with the fish and their environment. Choose a small desktop companion when you want a tank beside another task. Choose an idle collector when the next discovery is the main attraction.

Fishkeeping game questions
Does every aquarium game have fish breeding?
No. Fish growth, collecting, buying and breeding are distinct systems. Check that the official game description lists breeding and whether it is playable, planned or limited to particular content.
Can I try fish breeding in a free Steam demo?
ChillTank’s free demo includes a selected breeding loop. Its available fish and features are limited compared with the full-game direction. Follow the current demo listing for its scope.
Can I choose an exact rare offspring design?
Do not assume a catalog entry guarantees a breeding result. Check the current pairing rules and what the game actually shows before choosing parents.
Can ChillTank be played offline?
Gameplay and saves are local. Steam installation, setup and updates need a connection, as do optional Steam features. Offline play follows Steam’s offline-mode requirements.
